The only compensation we receive is from the quarterly fees our clients pay for our investment advisory services. We accept no soft dollars or commissions from any of the investment managers, mutual funds, or custodians we recommend, nor do we collect any fees from trading activity in our clients’ accounts.
We charge a quarterly fee based on a percentage of assets under advisement, which is comprehensive for all of our services. It includes investment strategy, manager selection, performance evaluation, on-going manager due diligence, and meeting time (and we do not bill for travel). Some advisers charge for add-on services. We believe that when a client pays a fee, they should get all of our services at the highest level.
In addition to our fees, clients pay separately to third parties for money management, custody, and brokerage. These fees are usually at meaningful discounts due to our negotiating efforts and all fee savings are passed directly to clients. Total fees are comparable to - and sometimes less than – our competitors or with more traditional approaches.
